Trail Orienteering (IOFA)

Inclusive Trail Orienteering is not just a sport.
It's a pathway to inclusion, empowerment, and equal participation for everyone.

IOFA is a European project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. Its mission is to make Trail Orienteering more accessible and inclusive, with a particular focus on people with disabilities and those working in the fields of sport, education and community engagement.

Understanding the vision behind IOFA

Inclusive Orienteering for All (IOFA) is a European project designed to make Trail Orienteering more accessible, inclusive and impactful. By combining sport, education and social inclusion, IOFA provides practical tools and approaches that empower coaches, educators and organisations to create meaningful opportunities for everyone.

Activities

From ideas to real experiences across Europe

Throughout the project, IOFA partners organised activities, trainings and events in different countries, actively involving people with disabilities and testing inclusive Trail-O approaches in real-life contexts. These experiences helped shape and validate the tools and resources developed within the project.

Resources

Practical tools to bring inclusion into action
IOFA has developed a set of concrete and ready-to-use resources to support inclusive Trail Orienteering. From guidelines to training materials, these tools are designed to help sport operators, educators and organisations implement inclusive activities in their own contexts.

Consortium

A Strong European Partnership

The Inclusive Orienteering for All (IOFA) project is implemented by a transnational consortium of organisations from six European countries. The partnership brings together sport organisations, non-profit associations and organisations with experience in Trail Orienteering, inclusive sport, education and disability advocacy. The diversity of the consortium ensures a multidisciplinary approach and allows the project results to be developed, tested and transferred across different national and local contexts.
